Just launched: finance & estimations in 17AVÍø
Introducing finance & estimation in 17AVÍø: a new era for profitable resource management where you can price accurately, protect margins, and deliver profitable projects every time.
This feature is now officially out of beta, with several updates that make it easier to understand your true project margins and manage your work with confidence.
If you haven’t yet, explore the full launch overview here.
Already familiar? This article delves deeper into some of the nuanced functionality and workflows that can help you get even more out of these tools.
Capture all costs with project expenses

In addition to labor costs, you can now add project expenses to your estimates and in-flight projects. Whether it’s project-related travel, software fees, or materials, these non-labor costs are included alongside your team’s hours to give you a complete view of your margins.
Review a summary of all estimates with estimate details

You now get an overview of the estimate details from the project side panel.
When you expand this section, you can see a breakdown of total hours, expenses, and non-billable costs, giving you extra context without needing to switch views.
When reviewing or editing a saved estimate, these details appear in the edit modal, so you can easily reference past estimates as you iterate.
💡 Pro tip: it’s easy to highlight, then copy & paste these details directly from the side panel into a quote, an estimate deep dive, or your CRM.
Unassigned roles, now in project templates

You can now create templates for estimates or live projects using roles. This makes it easy to save and re-use previously scoped projects, even when you don’t yet know who will do the work.
When it’s time to allocate, the pre-selected roles can be matched to team members in a few clicks, keeping everything consistent from estimation to delivery.
View margins right from your ‘Projects’ page

You no longer need to open every project’s report to see how it’s tracking financially. From the ‘Projects’ page, you can now view key margin data at a glance, helping you stay on top of margin health as projects evolve.
With from ‘Projects’, you can choose exactly which columns to show or hide, ensuring your ‘Projects’ page displays only the information that matters most to you and your team.
💡Pro tip: by selecting the stage in the top menu, you can automatically arrange your projects to get a pipeline view of all projects, grouped by their project stage and margins (shown above). Additionally, try the display options to show or hide different columns to personalize your list further. Â
Show or hide the project overview bar when estimating

When creating or editing an estimate, you can now show or hide the project overview bar for more flexible visibility.
Keep the bar visible when you want full project context—like seeing budgets, margins, and progress at a glance—or hide it when you’re sharing 17AVÍø in a group setting and want to keep sensitive financial data private. This is great for when you’re sharing your screen or using the project view in a meeting.
Export estimate baseline tracking to a CSV

Crunch the numbers in whatever format you need: you can now export your estimate baseline data to a CSV for external analysis or reporting.
When set to ‘Baseline estimate vs. Scheduled’ or ‘Baseline estimate vs. Logged’, the CSV export in the includes key estimate measures like estimated hours, estimated billable, estimated fee, and estimated cost.
